M&E Assistant - Duhok - National Position

Scope of Work

Under the supervision of the M&E Officer, and in collaboration with the project staff, the M&E Assistant will contribute to the implementation of M&E activities in the field, by collecting data and information about project progress and achievements. M&E activities include (but are not limited to) monitoring visits at project sites, post-activity monitoring, KAP surveys, collecting secondary data, assessments and evaluations, satisfaction surveys, quality monitoring, and verification of participant data. Through this, the M&E Assistant will assist in routine data collection and entry for various project interventions implemented in the field and ensure that complete, accurate, clean, and consistent data is shared with the M&E Officer for data analysis and action planning. In addition, the M&E Assistant will be responsible for the communication and visibility of LWF-Iraq on social media and through other channels.  

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

 M&E

· Draft tools in collaboration with project teams for gathering information/data from the field, and for data collection and monitoring procedures (e.g., project performance tracking, indicators, M&E guidance materials).

· Conduct regular field visits to ensure the quality of data collected by the project teams and to verify and/or cross-check the accuracy of the reported data.

·        Monitor project outputs track progress towards indicators and capture case studies and stories from the field.

· Facilitate the flow of data within project teams; ensure that the M&E data flow and responsibilities are completed on time, support provision of relevant training to the staff members in new tools.

· Provide support to project teams in conducting quality assessments and analysis, KAP surveys, PDMs, evaluations, and other project-requested surveys and assessments.

· Collect utilized means of verification for program activities and ensure the availability of them in both forms’ software and hard copies.

· Supporting the M&E officer in receiving and recording the operational complaints from the community and addressing them to the M&E officer and with the dedicated program staff.

· Ensuring that LWF systems such as Sharepoint, Beneficiary Dashboards, Activity Info and other platforms are up-to-date.

· Prepare scope of work with Human Resources for the recruitment of data collectors, and enumerators and supervise and train part-time data collectors and enumerators to ensure high-quality data capture.

·        Support the M&E Office in providing technical capacity building to the local partners.

·        Keep lessons learned on record and support conducting lessons learned workshops with the staff. 

·        Write and edit internal narrative reports as assigned by the M&E officer.

 Communication 

·        Document sector case studies and participant stories from projects, and disseminate them for use by the wider organization. 

·        Implement and manage the LWF-Iraq Communications Plan. 

·        Manage LWF social media accounts and ensure strategic, timely, and relevant case studies, stories from project participants, and other updates are shared on social media and through other channels.

·        In coordination with HQ, further develop the country-specific web pages, Facebook, LinkedIn, country-specific one-pagers, and other external content. 

·        Ensure LWF Iraq publicity, publications, and events are of high quality and reflect LWF’s organizational values and priorities.

·        Edit all external LWF communications to ensure compliance with global policies.

 Required qualifications:

      Minimum 2 years relevant working experience in project or program M&E; experience in information technology and/or community mobilization or other development initiatives

      Relevant university degree in development or related field

      Good in understanding and communicating in Kurdish, English, and Arabic languages

      Technical experience in livelihoods, WASH, and/or protection/social cohesion in emergency, recovery, and developing response operations.

      Experience in collecting data on livelihoods, WASH, protection and social cohesion, including for market analysis, needs assessments, and project evaluations

      Experience in IT and social media, with expertise in taking good photos and videos and writing accompanying narratives

      Experience in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

      Strong analytical skills/ability to conduct data analysis as well as report writing including data display.

      Strong understanding of monitoring and evaluation tools and approaches.
